About Mr. Ratican
I grew up and currently reside in Fallbrook, CA. I graduated with a BA in English in 2010 from SDSU. In 2014, I graduated with an MA in English from Portland State University. Currently, I am enrolled in the single-subject teaching program at CSU San Marcos. My subjects are English and Mathematics. At present, I co-teach at Rancho Buena Vista High School in Vista, CA.
My main goal for teaching young people is to prepare them for college. I think the best way to do so is to focus on individual learning and personal growth. I believe that teachers ought to be advocates for student learning, rather than just the source of knowledge. I firmly believe that education can be the single most important ingredient for equity and peace in the world.
